Hannah New was born on 13 May 1984 in Balham, London, England. She read Spanish at the University of Leeds and trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and was discovered in Barcelona in 2009. She played Rosalinda Fox in The Time in Between (2013-2014), Queen Leila in Disney's Maleficent (2014), Eleanor Guthrie across all four seasons of Black Sails (2014-2017) and Lady Tilley Arnold in the third season of Bridgerton (2024).
