Omikuji
(Japanese Calligraphy)
Omikuji is a Japanese tradition where participants randomly draw slips or pieces of paper from special boxes or urns at temples or shrines. These slips contain prophecies, spiritual guidance, or luck messages for those who draw them. Omikuji is a traditional practice that dates back centuries and is associated with Shinto or Buddhist temples and shrines.
At the Omikuji booth, visitors can choose a slip to predict their luck. The types of luck in the boxes are: bad luck, normal luck, good luck. If they like what is written on the slip, they keep it for good luck. If they get bad luck, they can tie the slip to a string at the booth to avoid taking the bad luck with them. This activity offers a unique opportunity to experience an important part of Japanese culture and find out what the future holds.
